What is LTX-2 Retake
LTX-2 Retake is an advanced extension of the LTX-2 video generation framework. It enables creators to refine, adjust or reinterpret specific segments of an existing video clip while preserving continuity in motion, lighting, audio and timing. Instead of regenerating entire scenes, Retake lets you surgically modify only the parts that need improvement. This is particularly useful for directors, editors and content creators who want fine control over pacing, tone or performance without starting over.
Key Capabilities
Selective retake of any segment
You can regenerate a targeted portion of a shot while keeping the rest intact. This is ideal for fixing a few seconds at the end of a sequence or adjusting a specific character action.Continuity preservation
Retake maintains motion direction, camera flow, ambient sound and lip sync. Even when changing dialogue, tone or framing, the scene continues naturally from the original clip.Creative redirection
Adjust emotional delivery, modify camera movement, shift pacing, or alter the overall mood while keeping the same environment, character design and structure.Iteration efficiency
Retake reduces production time by allowing rapid refinements. Rendering cost and time scale with the length of the edited segment, making it suitable for repeated creative iterations.Seamless integration in the LTX-2 workflow
Retake works alongside Fast, Pro and Ultra generation modes, enabling a complete pipeline from ideation to final cinematic output.
When to Use Retake
Scenario | Benefit |
|---|---|
Fixing a performance or timing issue | Correct a gesture, timing mismatch, reaction or dialogue delivery without redoing the full scene. |
Exploring alternate camera versions | Experiment with different angles or motion paths while keeping the same setting and actors. |
Adjusting tone or emotion | Shift the emotional intent of a line or moment while maintaining story continuity. |
Polishing rough cuts | Refine subtle lighting, movement or sound details after assembling the initial edit. |
Iterating for client feedback | Apply targeted revisions quickly without rebuilding the whole shot. |
Limitations and Current Scope
Retake operates on video clips up to about twenty seconds in length and typically modifies segments ranging from two to sixteen seconds.
Output resolution may depend on the workflow and will continue to improve as new capabilities are added.
Very complex or fast-changing action sequences might require multiple iterations to match the desired continuity.
Upload limits: File size must be under 100 MB. Supports up to 20 seconds input.
Edit segmentation: The system processes up to 505 frames (≈ 20 seconds @ 25 fps).
Maximum edit duration: 16 seconds
Minimum edit duration: currently 2 seconds, expected to change to 2.5 seconds.
Output: 1080p only (4K uploads are downscaled). Additional resolutions coming soon.
How Retake Fits Into a Full LTX Workflow
Initial Shot Creation
Produce a first version of your clip using Fast or Pro to explore angles, story beats and visual style.Review and Feedback Pass
Identify the exact moments needing refinement, whether dialogue, acting, pacing or camera decisions.Apply Retake
Regenerate only the targeted segment. The rest of the clip remains unchanged, ensuring smooth transitions.Polish and Upgrade
When satisfied with timing and performance, optionally render the final version in Ultra mode for maximum fidelity.Assembly and Final Edit
Combine your refined shots into the full sequence, ensuring narrative and visual coherence across scenes.
Why Retake Matters
LTX-2 Retake brings true directorial control into AI-driven video creation. It transforms the process from static one-off renders into an iterative, production-grade workflow. Creators can now adjust performances, cinematography and tone with precision, similar to traditional filmmaking or CGI post-production, but without the cost and complexity of classic pipelines.
The result is a more flexible, creative and efficient approach to high-quality video production, accessible to independent creators, studios, agencies and teams of any size.
